If you type the letter “i” and it auto corrects to an “A” with a symbol

iOS 11 Problems

So it looks like the latest update to iOS has a bit of an issue auto correcting the letter “i” (does anyone else see the irony in this?). If you updated your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to iOS 11 or later and find that when you type the letter “i” it auto corrects to the letter “A” with a symbol, here are some methods to fix it (according to Apple):

Try setting up Text Replacement for the letter “i”

Here’s what you can do to work around the issue until it’s fixed in a future software update:

  1. Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Text Replacement.
  2. Tap .
  3. For Phrase, type an upper-case “I”. For Shortcut, type a lower-case “i.”
